Philosophy of Driver Education
Jason Jerome is the instructor of North Idaho Commercial Driver Education. Jason has over 16 years of teaching driver's education in Rathdrum, Idaho. Our goal is to develop safe Idaho drivers. We are available for driving seven days a week.
The principle objective of Driver Education is to prepare students for the serious task of driving a motor vehicle. The specific goals include:
To develop the physical and mental skills necessary to operate a motor vehicle safely and economically.
To inform students of the laws governing the operation and ownership of a motor vehicle.
To acquaint students with driving techniques and strategies for avoiding collisions and for dealing with emergencies.
To build students' perpetual and decision making skills.
To make students aware of their responsibility for safe vehicle operation, including the use of safety belts and the avoidance of alcohol and other drugs.
To encourage an attitude of cooperation with other highway users, including pedestrians, bicycles, motorcycles, and other drivers.
Classes consist of students from 3-6 High Schools in North Idaho. During these classes detailed discussions of chapters of our text book "Drive Right" Scott Forsberg, Author will be conducted. We will also be discussing the Idaho Drivers Manual in depth. The use of videos will be utilized to augment both the chapter discussed, and the Idaho drivers manual. Behind the wheel classes will consist of 6 scheduled drives for students. Students will be required to observe other drivers for a minimum of 6 hours.
